In essa, ricordando come «ancora oggi in Italia, se due persone Lgbti+ decidono insieme di avere dei figli, insieme li accudiscono, nutrono e crescono, per legge soltanto una delle due risulta genitore», si chiede «il riconoscimento alla nascita per entrambi i genitori e l’estensione del riconoscimento ai minori già nati, anche in caso di genitori oggi separati. Riconoscimento significa pieni diritti e tutele per i nostri figli/e».
A Gaynews Gianfranco Goretti, presidente dell’associazione, ha così commentato genesi e finalità dell’iniziativa: «La nuova campagna di Famiglie Arcobaleno vuole ricordare a tutti e tutte che ancora oggi, in Italia, centinaia di bambini non hanno pieni diritti. Ancora oggi uno dei due genitori per lo Stato è un fantasma, e non ha nessun diritto/dovere sul proprio/a figlia o figlio che ha contribuito a mettere al mondo. La richiesta è sempre la stessa, semplice e chiara, che oggi rilanciamo con forza: riconoscimento dei nostri figli alla nascita, e provvedimenti di uguale valore per i bambini e bambine già nati, sia che i loro genitori siano in coppia sia che siano separati. Nessun provvedimento al ribasso rispetto a quanto chiediamo sarà accettato: il nostro lavoro continuerà fino a che i nostri figli e figlie non saranno considerati cittadini e cittadine con pieni diritti, cittadine e cittadini tutelati dallo Stato fin dalla loro nascita».
