Il 30 aprile il Mit – Movimento Identità Trans ha lasciato formalmente l’Osservatorio nazionale sull’identità di genere (Onig), alla cui nascita, nel 1998, aveva contribuito come socio fondatore.
A spiegarne le ragioni la stessa associazione con un lungo comunicato su Facebook, in cui si ricorda come l’Osservatorio sia nato su iniziativa di attiviste/i transgender e «vari professionisti che si occupano del percorso di affermazione di genere» al fine di promuovere il confronto e il dialogo con tutte le realtà interessate ai temi del transgenderismo nonché garantire una parità nell’accesso ai servizi per le persone trans garantiti dal sistema sanitario.
Ma, come rilevato nel comunicato, «dal 1998 il mondo è cambiato e sicuramente è cambiato quello trans. Nel mondo occidentale post-moderno si stanno affacciando nuove esperienze transgeneri che non fanno più riferimento alla cultura binaria di stampo patriarcale, anche se a nostro giudizio l’esperienza transgenere è sempre antibinaria. Soprattutto assistiamo ad una maggiore consapevolezza della nostra comunità su quali sono i propri bisogni e come raggiungere il proprio benessere. Se negli anni ’90 era una comunità che si affidava completamente alla scienza perché si veniva da un passato dove i servizi di tutela della salute trans erano praticamente assenti e tutto era affidato al privato o al faidate, oggi le comunità trans e non binarie si pongono come interlocutrici della comunità scientifica dalla quale pretendono ascolto dei propri bisogni in un’ottica di autodeterminazione e della piena depatologizzazione.
“Il corpo è mio e lo gestisco io” dichiaravano le femministe tra gli anni 60 e 70 del XX secolo. Anche le persone trans vogliono tornare a gestire i propri corpi ma volendo continuare a tutelarsi. Infatti chiediamo che sia il servizio sanitario nazionale ad occuparsi della nostra salute ma dando a noi modo di compiere le nostre scelte sui nostri corpi. Vogliamo tornare alla storia dei consultori nati nel nostro Paese dopo le lotte condotte dalle donne e introdotti alla fine degli anni 1970. Vogliamo che i nostri consultori siano luoghi non solo di cura in senso tradizionale ma anche di dialogo, luoghi di socializzazione, luoghi dove saperi scientifici e saperi trans trovano la modalità di potersi incontrare e produrre uno scambio proficuo che porti a nuove elaborazioni e idee per la tutela della nostra salute».
Per queste ragioni, conclude il Mit, «abbiamo riflettuto profondamente sul nostro ruolo all’interno dell’Onig e siamo arrivate alla conclusione che per noi quell’esperienza sia giunta al suo termine. Pur non facendo più parte dell’Osservatorio il Mit rimane aperto al dialogo con i/le professionisti/e, i/le ricercatori/trici e tutte e tutti le/gli altr* attivist* e siamo aperte a trovare nuovi percorsi per tutelare la salute e il benessere della nostra comunità».
A pesare indubbiamente sulla scelta anche la questione degli Standard sui programmi di adeguamento, redatti anni addietro dall’Onig, i cui centri, in quanto parte del servizio pubblico, sottostanno ovviamente a protocolli e seguono regole richieste. Considerate però all’interno dello stesso Onig oramai superate anche perché la maggior parte dei clinici opta da tempo per il protocollo internazionale Wpath (World Professional Association for Transgender Health), tali linee guida avrebbero dovuto essere modificate nell’ambito del convegno annuale, tenutosi a Bari il 6 e il 7 dicembre scorso. Convegno, nel corso del quale sono state anche rinnovate le cariche.
Ma, come rilevava il 26 dicembre su Gaynews Carmen Bertolazzi, presente alla due giorni barese, «l’Osservatorio ha sì comunicato la modifica dei suoi protocolli per i percorsi applicati dai centri di riferimento, ma forse serve una rivisitazione più ampia sul tema nel suo complesso che non può certo essere affrontata in due giorni di convegno. Forse oltre all’audacia, occorre anche un’innovazione generazionale nell’interlocuzione, per dare spazio a nuovi modi di sentire e sentirsi, aprendo contemporaneamente un confronto sulla correttezza di un percorso che possa tutelare le scelte personali, sostenute da esperti».
Contattata telefonicamente, Porpora Marcasciano, presidente del Mit, che era stata riconfermata con Regina Satariano alla carica di vicepresidente dell’Onig, ha spiegato a Gaynews: «Le mie dimissioni e dunque quelle del Mit erano nell’aria da molto tempo. Quindi non è stato un qualcosa all’improvviso anche perché il Mit, essendo l’associazione trans più longeva in Italia e anche più importante sotto certi punti di vista, deve assolutamente ascoltare la realtà, il mondo che muta, i cambiamenti: quindi, in base ai cambiamenti ,il Mit non può permettersi di restare indietro.
Sentivamo dunque di stare un po’ stretti all’interno dell’Onig che è un organismo fondamentalmente scientifico. Il Mit deve invece raccogliere le istanze del mondo trans e farsene portavoce. Le nostre dimissioni sono anche un sollecito all’Onig affinché si rimetta al passo coi tempi. L’Onig è stato molto importante in una fase e lo è tuttora, perché va detto contro tutti i populismi che vogliono ricette semplici a questioni complesse che l’Osservatorio ha comunque rappresentato in Italia una rete importante per la salute e il benessere delle persone trans.
L’Onig deve semplicemente cambiare marcia: tutto qui. Deve essere al passo coi tempi, rileggere la realtà, essere un laboratorio frizzante e, soprattutto, produrre letteratura, produrre scienza, produrre ricerca e, soprattuto, e Cose che invece si sono arenata. Quella del Mit non è stata assolutamente una decisione facile. Forse andava presa anche prima. Ma per una serie di circostanze e, soprattutto, per la debita attenzione, con cui vanno ponderate certe scelte, è arrivata solo ora. Proprio nell’ottica di reazione agli accennati populismi, cui il Mit si è sempre segnalato, va detto che, se l’Onig è invitato a cambiare marcia, la comunità trans è chiamata ad approfondire le questioni, perché nulla è dato, nulla è scontato, nulla è riconosciuto una volta per sempre. Questa intelaiatura, pratica e teorica, va tenuta sempre in considerazione».
Nella giornata di oggi sono invece arrivate le dimissioni dell’avvocato Giovanni Guercio, esperto internazionale di tematiche Lgbti+, da consigliere del direttivo Onig. Carica, questa, a cui era stato eletto nel convegno di Bari.
Contattato dalla nostra redazione, Guercio ha così motivato la sua scelta: «Non ho mai fatto mistero della “radicalità” delle mie posizioni in favore della popolazione trans e delle associazioni, nonché del mio ingresso in Onig proprio per supportare Porpora e Regina in quello che voleva essere un cambiamento, quasi epocale, dell’Onig alla luce delle evoluzioni storiche. Non ci siamo riusciti; e la coerenza, che ha sempre ispirato ogni mio comportamento, anche questa volta non può non guidarmi nelle mie scelte».
