In una lunga intervista rilasciata ieri ad Agenzia Nova, l’ambasciatrice del Regno dei Paesi Bassi in Italia, Désirée Bonis, ha espresso il suo aperto sostegno al ddl Zan, dichiarando di essere in contatto col parlamentare del Pd e di appoggiare «il suo lavoro. Credo che lo faccia una larga parte della popolazione italiana». Il 21 aprile scorso proprio Alessandro Zan aveva incontrato presso la sede diplomatica la vice-ambasciatrice Dewi van de Weerd, twittando entusiasta che «il sostegno di un Paese all’avanguardia sui diritti come i Paesi Bassi è fondamentale nella lotta anche in Italia all’odio e alle discriminazioni. L’Europa dei diritti è il nostro futuro comune».

Bonis, che è alla guida dell’ambasciata ai Parioli dal gennaio scorso, ha inoltre espresso nell’intervista l’auspicio di poter partecipare, come fatto già dai suoi predecessori, al Pride di Roma, che, salvo diverse disposizioni, dovrebbe tenersi il 26 giugno.
L’ambasciatrice Bonis ha infine osservato come la situazione della comunità Lgbt+ nel mondo sia «ancora piuttosto difficile e riguardi molte persone nella nostra societa», non senza ricordare che nei Paesi Bassi esiste «una salda legislazione al momento con pari diritti, la possibilità di sposarsi, di adottare, di ereditare». Motivo per cui la società olandese è «per larga parte» davvero inclusiva.
