Senio, prima di tutto auguri per la tua unione civile. Grande festa, molte foto, tanti partecipanti. Eravate bellissimi e con tanto affetto intorno a voi. Ci racconti quali sono state le vostre emozioni?
È stata un’emozione unica, che non avrei mai pensato di provare. Neppure nei giorni precedenti la celebrazione, quando fantasticavamo su quel che sarebbe stato, abbiamo immaginato quanto poi sarebbe stato intenso. Gli sguardi felici di chi ci attendeva a Caracalla, i sorrisi, un affetto vero allo stato solido. Reso più prezioso, forse inconsciamente in quei minuti, dalla percezione sottile ma presente, del fatto che per anni, neppure ci potevamo azzardare di immaginarcela in Italia una cosa del genere. E poi le famiglie riunite, i nostri più cari amici, i testimoni che uno a uno hanno parlato personalizzando la cerimonia, di per se un po’ burocratica, ma nel nostro caso davvero molto sentimentale. Ma soprattutto il “fuori-programma” come l’ha definito la nostra “celebrante”, la mia amica Giorgia (Cardinaletti, conduttrice della Domenica Sportiva, ndr). Mia madre che decide di parlare e con poche, soppesate, parole mi regala frasi che chiudono il cerchio di una vita intera. Nemmeno un regista avrebbe pensato a tanto.
La legge sull’unioni civili è un passo avanti. Eppure, anche alla luce di quanto previsto per la Terza Conferenza nazionale della Famiglia, sembra che la strada sia ancora lunga per il matrimonio ugualitario. Quali possono essere secondo te le nuove strategie da mettere in campo per sensibilizzare il mondo della politica?
Ho seguito passo passo l’iter della legge sulle unioni civili. Ho “interpellato” più volte sull’argomento Matteo Renzi, da cronista di Rainews24 a Palazzo Chigi. Ed ero in piazza quel giorno di maggio del 2016. Penso che dovremmo attendere le prossime elezioni politiche di primavera, capire con quali maggioranze si dovrà confrontare il movimento. Certamente dovremo continuare a “inseguire” l’Europa, quell’Europa evoluta che ci ha storicamente preceduto su tanti fronti. E contare fortemente sul fatto che – come abbiamo sperimentato noi sulla nostra pelle il giorno della nostra unione civile – amici, parenti e conoscenti hanno interpretato il nostro “sì” come un matrimonio, parlavano di matrimonio, ci indicavano e continuano a indicarci come “sposi e mariti” e a declinarci con il verbo “sposare”. Per loro, nella sostanza, siamo sposati ed abbiamo celebrato il nostro matrimonio. Punto. Sta al legislatore superare le ritrosie semantiche di un Parlamento ipocrita e allo stesso tempo eliminare quelle odiose discrasie che ancora ci separano fattivamente dal concetto di matrimonio egualitario.
Nel nostro Paese il mondo dell’informazione, se pur con qualche eccezione, non sembra abbia fatto passi in avanti e spesso leggiamo articoli o ascoltiamo programmi ricchi di errori terminologici e con contenuti fortemente omofobi e transfobici. Quali sono i tuoi suggerimenti per una informazione più equilibrata e, soprattutto, antidiscriminatoria?
Penso all’ultimo odioso stupro di Rimini. Una coppia brutalizzata, con lei vittima di violenza sessuale, stesso tragico destino toccato a una trans in quella notte di follia. La quasi totalità dei servizi andati in onda si soffermava sulla descrizione, anche eccessivamente dettagliata, quasi morbosa, dell’aggressione alla ragazza polacca. Poche righe per la trans, spesso indicata al maschile. L’ho trovato sconfortante. Il rimedio? Formazione e informazione. A partire dalle Scuole di giornalismo che devono aprirsi a seminari sull’informazione di genere. L’ordine dei giornalisti dovrebbe impegnarsi di più, siamo costretti a seguire decine di corsi di formazione per accumulare quei crediti che una dubbia riforma ci ha imposto ma sul tema non ne ho ancora visti. Seminari che andrebbero organizzati ovviamente coinvolgendo le associazione lgbtq. Potremmo fare squadra e organizzarli insieme, no?

Domanda maliziosa (sorride). Tu che sai com’è andata mi provochi… Ebbene, è un episodio simpatico da ricordare. Avrò avuto 23-24 anni, mi ero appena laureato e stavo terminando un master in Relazioni Internazionali a Firenze. Dovevo iscrivermi alla Scuola di Giornalismo di Perugia ma ero a rischio chiamata per il servizio militare. Sapevo di una vecchia norma di legge che permetteva ai gay dichiarati l’esenzione dalla leva ma a patto di presentare fisicamente una sorta di “certificato di omosessualità”… incredibile, vero? E chi poteva rilasciare questa sorta di bolla papale se non Franco Grillini, allora presidente di Arcigay? E così partii da Firenze e mi presentai, previo appuntamento, a casa di Franco. Tranquilli, nessuna sorta di ius primae noctis, soltanto due risate e quattro chiacchiere. Mi chiese anche di collaborare con gaynews.it ma poi non se ne fece niente. E fantasticò su un improbabile Gay Pride da organizzarsi all’Elba, la mia isola. Io, tra me e me, immaginavo le reazioni dei miei ai carri e ai ballerini sul lungomare di Portoferraio… aiuto! E così uscii da quella casa con il mio pedigree da gay doc. Che alla fine non servì perché la naja fu eliminata per legge. Ma quel certificato a firma autografa di Franco da qualche parte devo ancora averlo…

Una grande occasione dopo anni passati in strada da inviato istituzionale. Sto in studio insieme a Serena Bortone, la padrona di casa. Toccheremo molti temi come del resto fatto in questi otto anni di trasmissione, una finestra sull’Italia: dalla politica alla società, dall’economia ai diritti. E certamente parleremo anche di questi temi, il rispetto degli altri, la non-discriminazione, la lotta contro la violenza di genere e il bullismo, l’ omofobia, tema peraltro sepolto al Senato da quasi tre anni. Nello stile di Rai3 avendo sempre a mente un concetto chiaro: la centralità del servizio pubblico.
