A darne notizia con un post di condanna Giovanna Giò Sensation, organizzatrice delegata per l’Abruzzo di Miss Trans Italia, che a Gaynews ha dichiarato: «Sono venuta a conoscenza della morte di questa ragazza trans di Pescara, che non era una mia amica, ma una semplice conoscenza. Essendo al corrente della sua esistenza, mi sono meravigliata del nome maschile sui manifesti. Infatti, sui necrologi, è stato messo il nome al maschile di Alessia, mentre Alessia è il nome con cui io l’ho conosciuta a Pescara.
Io posso capire il dolore e lo sconforto dei genitori in questo momento. Posso capire anche che si tratta di un momento molto delicato, però sarebbe stato giusto almeno aggiungere al nome “anagrafico” quello d’elezione della ragazza, oppure potevano metterlo tra parentesi o potevano scrivere “detta Alessia”. Io non voglio muovere critiche né ai genitori né ai parenti, perché posso comprendere il dolore della loro perdita. Ho voluto però portare l’attenzione su quanto accaduto, perché, essendo stata anche presidente di un’associazione trans del territorio, vorrei che le persone trans continuassero a essere considerate, anche dopo la morte, per come volevano esserlo in vita».
Le ha fatto eco sempre su Facebook Daniela Lourdes Falanga, presidente di Arcigay Antinoo Napoli, che ha scritto «Giovanna Gio Miscia denuncia un altro caso di irriconoscenza alla vita di una donna trans. Dopo Alessia, dopo Valentina, dopo chissà quante e quanti invisibil*, ancora il macabro utilizzo dell’egoismo nella totale negazione all’esistenza. Così una donna ridiventa un uomo nel silenzio della morte. Spero in un percorso di consapevolezza delle famiglia».
