Condannato a 16 anni di reclusione per le accuse di omicidio volontario, evasione, rapina e porto illegale di coltello. La 1° Corte d’assise d’appello di Roma ha confermato, il 1° ottobre, per il 37enne Emanuele Veronesi, originario di Ostia Antica, la condanna emessa nel dicembre scorso dal gup capitolino a conclusione del processo, svoltosi con rito abbreviato, per l’uccisione delle 27enne transgender Laurentia Ursaru.
Il corpo esanime della giovane d’origine rumena era stato ritrovato il 10 novembre 2017, alle ore 14:00, all’Eur, in un parco adiacente a Via Romolo Murri da un passante, che aveva lanciato l’allarme. Vicino al cadavere, che presentava una ferita da arma da taglio al torace (il fendente aveva oltrepassato cuore e polmone della donna) fu ritrovato il portafogli di Emanuele Veronesi, che, detenuto all’epoca ai domiciliari, era scappato di casa, liberandosi del braccialetto elettronico che indossava.
L’uomo fu fermato dalla Squadra Mobile, il 12 novembre, su Lungotevere dei Vallati, ritenuto responsabile anche dell’omicidio di un giovane maghrebino, all’alba di quel giorno, in via Padre Lino da Parma. Anche in questo caso la vittima era stata uccisa con un’unica coltellata al cuore.
Veronesi, che fece poi ritrovare l’arma del delitto, ancora insanguinata, all’interno di un borsone, disse agli inquirenti di non avere nulla a che fare con l’uccisione del nord-africano. Ma la sua presenza sul luogo del delitto quel sabato era certa. Cosa che lo spinse a dire che di essersi limitato a consumare della droga con la vittima.
Circa l’omicidio di Laurentia Veronesi dichiarò di essersi allontanato da casa e recato in zona Eur alla ricerca di una prostituta con cui avere un rapporto sessuale. Incontrata la 27enne rumena, fu pattuita la somma di 20 euro. Ma quando si era accorto che Laurentiu era una donna transgender, aveva richiesto i soldi indietro. Al rifiuto della giovane ne era seguita una violenta colluttazione, nel corso della quale Veronesi aveva sfoderato improvvisamente un coltello.
L’uomo disse che il colpo era partito accidentalmente. Ma non è stato creduto né dal gup né dai giudici della Corte d’Appello.
Sull’omicidio di Laurentia, che venne a cadere alcuni giorni prima del TDoR o Transgender Day of Remembrance del 2017 (anno in cui furono 325 le persone trans uccise nel mondo), così si espresse all’epoca Cristina Leo, portavoce del Coordinamento Lazio Trans (CoLt): «A pochi giorni dal TDoR, giornata internazionale in cui la comunità trans commemora le vittime di transfobia, la notizia dell’uccisione di una giovane ragazza trans nel quartiere eur di Roma ci addolora e ci ferisce ulteriormente.
Con forza e determinazione diciamo no alla transfobia e chiediamo alle istituzioni preposte l’attuazione di politiche serie contro la discriminazione delle persone trans e a favore della loro inclusione sociale e lavorativa».
